Bring your Troop and come join us for lots of fun and learning!

We offer trail riding and overnight camp specifically designed to meet the needs of your Troop.

Trail Riding - Don't go riding in an arena - Come join us for a beautiful trail ride through our scenic woods! Every girl will have her very own horse!  Safety helmets are provided. The cost is $35.00 per rider for a one hour session (we require a minimum of six riders and reservations need to be made in advance). Riders need to be eight years old or older. We also offer special classes for Girl Scout Badge Requirements - Please call for details.

Overnight Camp Our camp begins on Friday with an old-fashioned bonfire and s'mores around the campfire. Saturday, we spend the entire day with horses and horse-related activities. Sunday, we finish up with a beautiful trail ride and with all the badge requirements.

Throughout the weekend we will learn about the following information for your Horse Badge*:

• Learn how to groom, lead, tie, bridle, saddle and mount a horse.
• Learn about the gaits of the horse.
• Learn how to hold a horse for the farrier or the veterinarian.
• Learn about horse safety rules and how to use them.
• Learn how to assess a horse. Find out what faults a horse may have and how to correct them.
• Learn about tack and how to care for it. What type of tack you use for your riding style.
• Learn how modern science has contributed to the health, breeding, training and care of horses.
• Learn about horse careers.
• Learn how horses are used in therapeutic programs and how horses can help people.

All students are required to wear pants, boots or shoes with heels and ankle support, and SEI certified riding helmets (helmets will be provided). The tuition for the entire weeked is $275.00 (a savings of $50.00 for each Girl Scout from our regular camp prices). Tuition includes your own horse for the entire camp, riding lessons, educational materials, meals and lodging.
